Zunge-Snake Eyes-Venom Bite Piercing
Tongue
Tongue piercings heal quickly and well. You should expect a “thick”, swollen tongue for 3–5 days. During this time, you should not talk or smoke much, and you should not eat tough foods. Sucking ice cream and ice cubes, gargling with a disinfecting mouthwash such as Hextril or Kamillosan help to reduce swelling. The tongue may hurt a little due to the swelling.
In the beginning, a longer rod than needed later is used to have reserve for the swelling of the tongue. Then, once the tongue is completely swollen, it is recommended to change to a shorter rod that fits the tongue diameter exactly. If the rod is too long, there is the problem of tooth damage from biting or chipping the enamel. Stories of tongue paralysis or taste disorders, which are told over and over again, are fairy tales. With properly placed piercings, exactly in the centre line of the tongue, such a thing is actually impossible.
At the piercing rod there are saliva deposits similar to tartar. It must therefore be taken out occasionally and cleaned thoroughly.
Variations: Stone-studded ball, screw-on cog, ornamental part, etc.
Healing time: 2 weeks
Venom Bite
The Venom Bite is a v-shaped piercing with two vertical rods. It lies further forward than the centred normal tongue piercing. It cannot be pierced on everyone, depending on how many vessels run along the underside of the tongue.
It is done by us with plastic rods, so that the teeth are not damaged. Risk of loss of taste is minimal if the needle guide is done correctly.
Snake Eyes
Horizontal through the tip of the tongue. Does not work for everyone, depending on the shape of the tongue. In our case, stitched only with plastic rods, because of the risk of tooth damage. The risk of taste loss is minimal if the needle is inserted correctly. Difficult piercing, risk of biting off the balls, difficult to get accustomed. But some pigheaded people love it.
